Brazilian healthcare still bleeds through manual processes. Revenue that disappears in operational failures. Physicians filling out forms when they should be looking patients in the eye.

Rivio was born to change that, and it knows it will not change it alone. That is why the company called on Brazilians who are furthering their education at universities abroad for a mission: to come home and enlist in the war against inefficiency in hospital management.

That is the purpose of Healthcare Mission, Rivio’s Summer Job.

What is Rivio’s Healthcare Mission

Healthcare Mission is Rivio’s summer program (in the Northern Hemisphere) for Brazilian students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees abroad. For 10 weeks, between May and August 2026, participants work on-site in São Paulo, side by side with founders, engineers, nurses and leaders who are rewriting how hospitals work in Brazil.

Rivio already operates with more than 30 institutions in more than 10 states, monitors 6,000 beds and tracks more than R$ 10 billion in billing. This is the context in which program participants work.

Healthcare Mission exists because Rivio believes that solving one of society’s most complex problems requires the best minds in the country, wherever they are studying.

Real ownership, not an observation internship

The program’s proposal is straightforward: participants do not come to observe. They come to work with real ownership of critical projects, with measurable impact on the operation and the business.

Areas include AI, Deployment, Product, Operations, Business Development and Strategy. Placement is based on each participant’s profile, not on a prior choice of area.

Candidates with exceptional performance at the end of the program may receive return offers for full‑time positions.

The areas

The program covers six work fronts:

  • Deployment: implementing the Rivio solution at client hospitals, working closely with hospital operations, technical integrations and stakeholder management.

  • AI: developing and refining artificial intelligence agents, model pipelines and systems that operate with precision in the healthcare context.

  • Operations: running and optimizing clients’ critical revenue cycle flows, with a focus on quality, scale and continuous improvement.

  • Product: discovery, definition and prioritization of platform improvements, in direct contact with clients, engineering and strategy.

  • Business Development: generating and qualifying new commercial opportunities, building relationships with hospitals and expanding the market.

  • Strategy: cross-functional projects tied to executive leadership, including new markets, new products, M&A and financial planning.

Who can apply

The program accepts applications from any field of study.

Technical profiles (Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science and related fields) are typically placed in AI, technical Deployment or Product. What we look for: a solid quantitative foundation, comfort with code and genuine curiosity about complex systems.

Business profiles (Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Law, Humanities and related fields) are typically placed in Strategy, Business Development, Operations or Product. What we look for: structured thinking, analytical skills, sharp communication and the maturity to navigate conversations with executives and clients.

Why work at Rivio

The Brazilian healthcare system is one of society’s most complex and vital industries. And one of the most outdated in management technology.

While medicine advances rapidly, hospitals’ administrative processes remain manual, slow and subject to preventable losses.

Rivio uses artificial intelligence to change this picture: it automates billing, reduces denials, increases financial predictability and gives hospitals back the ability to focus on patient care.
